My Hands Say Hello!
A First Story About American Sign Language
“My hands say hello – in their very own way!”
Tavi is six, Deaf, and loves to sign. When new neighbor Dawit can hear but doesn’t know any signs yet, Tavi shows him how: HELLO, FRIEND, PLAY, EAT, MORE, THANK YOU and more. Soon the two friends are chatting with their hands all day long.
A joyful rhyming story for ages 3–7 that celebrates Deaf culture and the fun of learning a new language.
